Barbara had a good day today. She walked 5 times today and the walks were much longer than the day before. They are slowly disconnecting her from various hoses and drips. They removed the vacuum dressing today which was keeping the incision point dry and sterile. It is designed to be on for 7 days but lasted 8. They also took her off the pain pump and are giving her pain meds through her feeding tube. That is better because it is longer lasting, but since she only gets it every 3-4 hours, it may tend to wear off. She only had the first dose, but it seems to be working pretty good so far.
Just after I started this entry, they came in and moved her to a regular room. They were able to move her to the Oncology floor and get her a private room which is excellent. The room is very nice and even has a view. She is getting settled in and hopefully will have a good night. The room number is 548.
Bottom line is that she is getting stronger and better each day. Still not sure when she may go home, but should know more soon.
