First, let me apologize for no update last night. Because she may be staying longer, I decided to make a quick trip home to do laundry, water plants and a couple other things. Turns out yesterday was just more of the same. She got up several times and walked which is what they want her to do, so she is doing everything they are asking.
The surgeon came in this morning and said today would like yesterday in that they would be waiting and hoping yet he leak would seal itself. They are also taking out her epidural today because they do not like to leave it in more than 5 days. She is getting basically the same drugs through her IV now which may actually help the side pain more since it should effect her whole body more than where the epidural was. However, it may also mean the incision area may not be as well covered as with the epidural did, so she could be hurting a little more in that area. However, in talking to the anesthesiologist, they gave her a heavier dosage earlier this morning and it did not really do anything. Turns out it had come out last night so it was doing nothing anyway, so the IV pain should be good although it is making her legs a little wobbly. They are adjusting the drug levels to see what works best.
Unfortunately, the drain is still showing that she is leaking a little, so continue to wait and hope it seals itself. Not sure how they will wait.
