Today was not a great day for Barbara. The pain in her side is still pretty bad and making it difficult to take deep breaths. The pain in her shoulder is also back which also hurts when she takes any deep breaths. She does not really hurt when laying still, but because she is only breathing shallowly, they are concerned about pneumonia. They are trying to figure out something to reduce the pain so she can take deep breaths. The lidocaine patch has not really helped and they are telling her to push the "pain" button every 20-30 minutes and that may help some.
She did take 2 walks today, so she is trying to do as much as she can. She has slept most of the day today which is generally good, but moving around would also be good.
Other than the rib and shoulder pain and not breathing deep enough, she is probably doing pretty good. I think everything is healing ok which is key.
