Things are quiet as we continue to simply wait for the next test which is currently scheduled for this coming Friday. We are considering changing that to the following Monday since it is likely we would not hear anything until that Monday or Tuesday anyway and waiting an extra three days gives her more time to heal which means a better chance of a positive result. We are thinking about asking for that on tomorrow, but have not decided for sure yet.
Overall, Barbara is still doing well although she is really getting tired of the waiting and all the boredom with that waiting. She is really looking forward to two of her sisters visiting late in the week. That will be a nice distraction from just waiting.
The drain is starting to slow a little which is good. It had increased some when we came home from the hospital but the doctors believe that was likely from the trip home and all the activity. We did talk to them on Friday and they indicated it was not something to worry about at this point. Between Friday and Sunday, the amount draining each day has dropped about in half, so that is a good sign. I did some more reading about this problem and from what I read, this type of leak does happen sometimes with surgery in that area and as long as no infection or other problems occur, it will usually seal itself in a few weeks if no food or liquid is taken by mouth. So we are doing what seems like the best thing for now, but it is clearly boring and a little frustrating. Hopefully, it will all resolve itself in the next couple weeks.
