Barbara continues to improve a little bit each day. She still has some sores in her mouth, but much better than a few days ago. Her taste buds are still messed up, but seem to be coming back a little at a time. She is able to eat some and to drink enough for it not to be a problem. During the worst period while her mouth was really sore, she lost about 16 pounds over about 10 days, so she was clearly not eating much. She is now doing a lot better than during that period.
We did hear back today that the cyst on the tail of her Pancreas that they drained on Friday is only something to be watched, so it is not a problem to worry about at this time. If it comes back, they will need to check to make sure it does not become cancerous.
Otherwise, we are mostly waiting to confirm when the surgery will be (should know by Friday), but are still hoping for 7/13.
For anyone waiting to talk to Barbara, she says she will be up to talking starting tomorrow. So please feel free to give her a call if you want to talk. Thanks for everyone's interest and support and I will continue to keep you all informed as best I can. Other than confirming the surgery date, there may not be a lot to report until the actual surgery except we hope her taste buds get back to normal soon.
