Unfortunately, it looks like the nausea is back about as bad as the first 2 cycles. Again, the nausea pills do not seem to help much, but she is handling it pretty well. The fatigue is about the same as before, but that was expected.
On the good side, the sensitivity to cold has not returned, so switching to the Cisplatin instead of the Oxaliplatin has been good in at least one way. She still has a little of the sensitivity from the last treatment, but very little and hopefully that will be completely gone soon. So far none of the other bad side effects of the Cisplatin (except nausea) have shown up. Since she did not have any reaction right after the treatment, that was another very positive improvement over Cycle 2.
She now has had the pump on for 24 hours and she is handling that pretty well. It is very inconvenient, especially trying to sleep with it at night and making sure not to try and get up without it. Keeping it on for 21 days would have really been a pain, especially since they said she should not shower with it attached. As she said a few minutes ago, 1 down, 4 to go, so she continues to keep a good attitude. Hopefully the nausea will ease up pretty quickly after the pump is done on Monday.
So far and from my perspective, I think this cycle seems to be going a little better than the first two although the nausea is probably as bad right now which is the main thing keeping her from doing very much and making her just feeling pretty miserable. If the nausea starts easing next week, then it will definitely be better as long as no new side effects pop up.
