Cycle 3, day 6

Barbara's nausea continued to get worse today.  She was feeling so bad this morning that we went in about 4 hours early and had the pump turned off and removed early.  She ended up getting about 98% of the drug over the past 5 days, so it should not impact the treatment much if any, but it gives her an extra 4 hours today to start getting it out of her system and for the nausea to start getting better.  It also means we can go back around 1 (instead of just before they normally close) tomorrow to get her Neulasta shot.  The nausea was definitely worse this time than any of the others, at least today and yesterday.  Of course, if it ends in a very few days, then was this better or worse than a little less nausea each day, but lasting several more days.  It will be very interesting to hear what they want to do for the after surgery Chemo assuming surgery is still the next step.

We did get the CT scan scheduled for next Monday morning with a probable follow up with the Oncologist on Thursday.  The EUS is still scheduled for Friday morning, so next week should be pretty busy.  The Oncologist and surgeon are talking about the best way to proceed given Barbara's more extreme nausea and I believe that going to surgery  quickly will be the most likely decision on their part.  She has stuck it out pretty well given how bad she has been feeling, but today she was really miserable and we are not sure she could handle another one right now.  She has not slept much the past couple nights either, so that has been making it all worse.  Of course, the surgery will not be any fun at all, but at least it will be that much closer to the end if all of this.

Coleen and family are here now and helping cheer her up although she has not really been able to enjoy them much yet.  Hopefully that will change soon.
