Barbara is still feeling very miserable. Her nausea seems to continue to go down a little each day, but she now has sores all over her mouth which is making it very difficult to eat and drink. This is a new side effect and is a little surprising given it started after she had completed all the drugs for this cycle. If it is not any better tomorrow, we will likely call to see if there is anything they can give her to help although there is probably not much they can do other than tell her to rinse with salt water or something else like that. She is managing to get (and keep) some liquids down although every sip is painful, so hopefully that will be enough to keep her hydrated. We think this should start to clear up soon, but since it is new and everyone is different, we are not sure.
Of course the fatigue remains especially given how little she is eating and drinking. We keep hoping she will start feeling better each day, but so far this cycle, that is not really happening. Overall, things are better in some ways from the previous 2 cycles but worse in other ways.
We did get her appointment with the Oncologist set for next Thursday at 10am. We should get results for the CT from next Monday as well as a blood test they did last week. I am sure we will discuss what he thinks should be the next step (likely surgery) and possibly what he is thinking for after surgery. The next two weeks will be busy, but fortunately no new Chemo for at least that time frame. As we get more info, we will pass it along.
