Nothing substantial to report, but wanted to give a brief update. The main issue Barbara is having is food getting stuck when she eats. We still will be seeing the doctor to discuss a procedure to help this on Friday, so nothing has changed there. She usually does not have a problem, but when she does, it is very painful and usually ends up having to throw up a little bit to get what is stuck out or at least loose.
The port flush went fine on Monday, so no problems with that. We moved her next one out a week to avoid any conflict with the end of October wedding in VA if we are able to attend that. She has scheduled a checkup with her primary Doc for next week (had blood work done today for that). This is mainly to check her Thyroid levels and get a new prescription as well as see if she should start taking her blood pressure medication again. She will also ask if there is something they can do to help with the restless legs at night.
We talked to her surgeon's office this week and they indicated they wanted to see her again after she has the treatment to hopefully open up her throat. I assume that is to see if the procedure helped as well as to see how she is doing with eating and not loosing too much weight. We will schedule that once we know when the procedure is scheduled. The procedure will be a type of Endoscopy to stretch out any scar tissue from the surgery and maybe something else to help with swallowing.
I will put out an update when we know more.
