Cycle 2, Day 9

Unfortunately, Barbara's nausea is not getting any better.  We talked to the doctor today and he wants her to try and keep taking the 1000mg through this cycle if at all possible.  He does not want to reduce the dosage any more as he feels that would significantly reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.  If the nausea gets to be too much to take or diarrhea gets too bad, he says to stop it completely.  We will discuss possibly going to the pump approach for the third cycle when we meet with him next week.  She wants to do as much as possible to give the drugs the best chance to work, so she is going to try her best to tolerate feeling bad all the time, but you can only take so much.

Along that line, she is having diarrhea some today as well, but I don't think it is too bad yet.  Hopefully she can control that with medication, but we will see.

The tingling does seem to be continuing to improve a little bit each day, but still there and bad when triggered.

She did sleep almost 8 hours last night, so that is an improvement.

I think the bottom line is that the constant feeling bad is starting to wear on her.  She continues to have a good attitude, but it is already getting old and we have a long way to go.  Because she always feels bad, she is not getting much exercise either which is starting to have some impact as well.  We will try to get out a little as soon as she feels up to it.  At least to walk around some.
