Cycle 2, Day 3

Barbara is feeling a little worse today.  This is mainly because her fingers, toes and mouth are very sensitive and actually hurt when the tingling gets triggered.  As I mentioned yesterday, it is strange because it tends to be very bad when triggered, but can actually feel almost normal at times.  Hopefully this will start to ease some as we get further from the Infusion on Day 1.

The nausea continues and with some directions from the doctor we will play a little with her pill dosage.  Hopefully this will help at least a little.  Hopefully that will also get a little better as the other drugs work their way out of her system as we get further from the infusion on Day 1.

She is also suffered from the opposite of diarrhea.  She is hurting because she needs to go, but can't.  She has taken a stool softner today and we are prepared to do more if necessary.  Once this "breaks", she should feel a lot better.

Her hair is definitely coming out more and more.  I now have hair cutters which she wants me to use to cut it all down to almost being shaved.  She is constantly getting loose hairs on her neck and back and of course it is itchy.  I plan to do that tomorrow when we can go outside.

Her spirits are pretty good, but the continued nausea and especially the pain in her fingers, toes and mouth make her miserable a lot of the time.  But she is facing all of this with a pretty good attitude and seems to handle it well most of the time.  She continues to learn a few tricks especially with gloves and how to drink, so that is helping make the day more tolerable.
