Cycle 2, Day 4

Barbara was finally able to get rid of the "rock" that was stopping her up.  She was in a lot of pain before that, but is doing OK with that now.  That happened in the middle of the night last night, so she was able to sleep better after that.

Her nausea is about the same today, but at least no worse.  Her main complaint today has been the tingling (actually pain) in her fingers and also in her feet.  She has had a few breaks where it was not too bad, but it was there most of the day.  She was able to eat, but I did have to help her a little more than normal just because it hurts to do anything with her hands when it is bad.  She is able to drink, but she drinks only a little at a time and has to be very careful and drink small sips.

The main event of the day was her hair.  It has been coming out fairly steadily for a few days now and she was getting tired of it being all over her, so I cut it all off down to a short stubble.  That was fairly upsetting for her and she will likely wear something on her head almost all the time now.  She wanted me to shave it with my electric razor, but her scalp was too sensitive for that.  I think the hat looks kind of cute, but she does not think so.

Her fatigue is about the same today and she has also been cold most of the day even though it got into the 70's here.  I was very comfortable in a short sleeve shirt, but she was cold most of the time under a blanket.  That could be one of the reasons the tingling was more constant today.  I understand that being cold is a fairly common thing for Cancer patients and for people during Chemo, so it is not unexpected, but still not pleasant.  The weather gets a little cooler tomorrow and for the next few days, so I hope that does not make the tingling even worse.  It is actually staying about the same temperature in the house all the time even when we open up, but she is still feeling cold much of the time.
