It was a long session at the hospital for her Chemo treatment today as we were there before 8:30 this morning and did not leave until about 4pm. Everything went fine although Barbara was starting to feel some nausea before we left. Hopefully that will not get too bad as the next few days go forward. Of course, the worst drug did not get started until about 4 and that will be going into her for 5 days, so there is a good chance it will get at least a little worse. We go back on Tuesday to have the pump removed and then again on Wednesday to get a shot of Neulasta to help keep her from getting sick since the Chemo drugs lower her white blood count.
Not really much to say at this point as we are just getting started, but at least no problems with the initial treatment. I will try to do daily updates for the next few days to keep everyone informed on how this treatment is going and if the side effects are less than last time (Hopefully!!!).
We also go back for an appt. with a PA to discuss how she is doing and potential next treatment adjustments on Tuesday the 13th. By then we should know if she is going to get the sores in her mouth and how bad the nausea was as well as any other new side effects. Busy couple weeks, but hopefully they will not be too bad.
