Since there are so many people that want to know how mom is doing I figured I'd set up a blog for  mom or dad to be able to update everyone in one place.  This is the start.

To bring everyone up to date, Barbara has been diagnosed with Stage 2A gastric adenocarcinoma.  Her first appointment with the oncologist was Tuesday (4/7/16).  There are two possible treatment options that he is considering.  He is presenting her case to a "tumor board" next Tuesday to determine the best possible approach.  Here is the link about chemo on the American Cancer Society Website ( http://www.cancer.org/cancer/stomachcancer/detailedguide/stomach-cancer-treating-chemotherapy).

After chemo or chemo/radiation she will have part or all of her stomach surgically removed.  Most likely it will have to be the entire stomach based on where it is located.

Especially once she starts treatment she or dad will try and update the blog as often as they can, but please bear with them since she will probably not be feeling well and he will be busy taking care of her!  Continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
