Cycle 1, Day 3, Morning

Barbara is doing about the same this morning. The ulcer or tumor which was hurting her yesterday is not hurting her this morning, so that is an improvement.  The nausea is about the same, but so far still bearable and she is still eating OK.  Her fingers were not tingling this morning when she got up which was a nice improvement, but after a shower and touching clean pajamas which were slightly cool (after all we are still in Maine), it started up again.  But she did make it through breakfast before that (egg and cheese) with no problem.  So overall, I would say a little bit of an improvement with hope of getting better each day.  She was hoping to get on her computer this morning, but until the tingling settles down, not much hope of that.  The pain in her arm is still there and we are not sure what that is.  Seems like a cramp or pinched nerve in upper back which makes her arm ache (right arm), but this started before Chemo so not sure what to do about it.  Massage helps some, but only some.

Unfortunately, for those of you local to Rangeley, we heard this morning that Archie died last night.  He has been in and out of the hospital for a few weeks with heart problems and his heart finally failed last night.  We want to wish Pat the very best and let her know we are thinking of her in her time of loss.  Please let us know if we can do anything for her.

Overall, things are a little better each day for Barbara, so keep up the good thoughts and prayers.

We are still limiting phone calls, but Barbara says she is OK with short calls from her siblings at this time.  Hopefully in a couple days she will be up for more calls.  Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

We do go back to the hospital on Monday for another Ferrous infusion and I will do a little shopping for a few grocery items while she is getting treatment, so may be out most of that day.
