Home, day 9

Nothing has changed in the past couple days, but wanted to do a brief update.  Plan is still for us to call the doctor tomorrow with how much her drain is showing, but unless it is essentially zero, I am pretty sure the plan will be to continue to wait and watch.  Unfortunately, it is continuing to show some drainage even though it is not a lot.  It has been between 5 and 7.5 cc (or mL) for the past three days.  When it finally does seal itself, I think it will suddenly stop draining completely, but no clue when that will be.  If nothing changes by the end of next week, the doctor may want to consider doing something else like putting in a stint.  Not sure what that would involve other than an Endoscopy to put it in, but no clue if she could immediately start eating, how long it would be in, or much else about the procedure.  We keep hoping the drain will suddenly be empty one morning and we can do the "leak" test and then hopefully start eating at least liquids.

In general, we are both doing very well.  Barbara still gets tired quickly, but seems to do a little bit better each day.  As I said previously, I think the main issue at this point is the boredom and continuing to wait along with the unknown around that.  Given the other ways things could have gone, we are still very thankful for where we are right now.  We just wish we could get on to the next step sooner rather than later.

As things change, I will continue to put out updates.
