Well, the news is all good. The latest CT Scan and Blood work all show no signs of cancer and everything else is normal. Barbara continues to have some issues with eating, mostly just nausea and related problems, but so far nothing serious. This was expected as her body continues to get used to not having a stomach and her intestines continue learning how to accept food directly. She is learning, but random things can still bother her, but usually only for a few hours after eating. She has lost a lot of weight since surgery, but that is something she wanted to do and it has all been slowly, so that is not considered a problem. The lose has slowed a little over the past couple months, so that is a good sign.
We go back to talk to the Oncologist in 3 months and at that time, assuming she is not having any problems and the blood work continues to be OK, we will discuss when to do another scan as well as possibly taking out her port. If things still look good then, we may wait a year from now for a new scan, but we will see at that point.
Bottom line, everything seems to be going very well so far.
