Sorry I have not done an update for several weeks, but to be honest, there has not been anything to report.  Barbara is doing well although her "stomach" still bothers her a lot of the time, especially after eating and food still gets caught sometimes, but that does seem to be happening a little less often.  We do go to the doctors a few times over the next two weeks, so I should have some news after those visits.

On Thursday, we go to Portland (assuming weather cooperates as long range forecast is calling for heavy snow that day) to the GI department to talk about the food getting caught.  My gut tells me there may not be much they can do although Barbara did hear there might be a pill she can take that will help.  I guess we will see.  She is managing OK without any treatment, but if it can be fixed it will be a nice improvement and make eating a little less of a challenge.

On Friday, we go to Farmington for a CT scan and blood work as her first regular follow up to see if the cancer is still gone.  We will go see her new Oncologist the following Friday (9th) for results of these tests and to talk about any additional follow up or treatment needed such as when she will start the B12 shots.  A little nervous about this for obvious reasons, but generally feeling pretty good given the results to date.

The lumps on her neck and bump on her head seem to have gone away, so that appears to be unrelated to the cancer which makes us feel much better.  Having had cancer in her system, any lymph node issues are concerning.  Seems like this was a false alarm which we are taking as very good news.

Overall she is doing pretty well.  I do not think she is really eating enough (my opinion) but since she still wants to lose some weight, I guess that is OK for now.  She is down over 45 pounds and since she is only losing 2-3 pounds a week, we are not really concerned.  My concern is more about her eating enough once she loses all she wants to lose.  With only being able to eat a very little at a time and sweets still bother her, getting enough total calories every day will remain a challenge.  She does still tire a little quicker than she used to (which I think may be related to not eating enough), but other than that, she is really doing great considering everything she has been though.

Again, sorry for the long period with no update, but I should have more news over the next couple weeks, hopefully all good news.  Thanks again for everyone's continued support.

Wayne
